The U16 championship is for the title of the Swiss U16 Champions. The rules of the game that apply are those of the FSR for under-15s.

5 teams participate in the championship. All of the teams play each other at home and away. The points calculation for each match is as follows :

• Match won : 4 pts
• Match drawn : 2 pts
• Match lost : 0 pt
• 1 bonus point for having scored 4 tries or more
• 1 bonus point for a match lost by 7 points or less
• Withdrawal: -1 point in the table for the withdrawing team; 4 points for the winning team
• Technical withdraw: no points in the league table for the withdrawing team; 4 points for the winning team
• Red card: -1 point per red card starting from the 3rd one in the season

The league table classification is made according to the following criteria :

• 1. The number of points gained
• 2. The number of red cards
• 3. The best team on a head-to-head basis
• 4. The number of tries scored
• 5. The drawing of lots

On completion of the matches, the team that is placed 1st becomes the Swiss U16 Champions.
