Forthcoming matches in League C

The NLC championship determines who is to become Swiss Champion NLC and who is to be promoted to NLB.

8 teams participate in the championship, with all teams playing each other home and away.

The method of awarding points for each match played is as follows.

• Match won : 4 pts
• Match drawn : 2 pts
• Match lost : 0 pt
• 1 bonus point for having scored four tries or above
• 1 bonus point for a match lost by seven points or below
• forfeit: 1 point deducted in the table for the forfeiting team; 4 points for the winning team
• Technical forfeit: no points in the league table for the forfeiting team; 4 points for the winning team
• Red cards: 1 point deducted per red card starting with the 3rd red card of the season.

The league table rankings are determined according to the following criteria:

• 1. Number of points amassed
• 2. Number of red cards
• 3. Aggregate score of direct encounters
• 4. Number of tries scored
• 5. By lot

With the qualification round completed:

• The best placed team will become Swiss Champion NLC and will be promoted to NLB
• The 2nd placed team will play in the final of promotion to NLB/relegation to NLC

Based on the season finished the FSR will decide about the constitution of NLC and 1st League. The decision will be taken by considering a range of impartial criteria, in particular sporting and economic stability. The decision will be taken in consultation with the regions and the relevant clubs. Corresponding applications (incl. Business plan and budget for the upcoming season) are to sent to the CEO of the FSR until 15. June 2012.
