Swiss Women’s Team, Sevens Rugby

Swiss Women's 7-a-side rugby team

In charge of the team is head coach Petra Tretter, supported by assistant coach George Lucas. Dani Pokorny has taken over as manager, Cynthia Munstermann is physio. Responsible within the FSR for women’s rugby is Frédérique Meyer.

The latest success of the women’s Sevens team came at the European Championships FIRA/AER (group 2A) in Latvia’s capital Riga early July 2011. The team, successfully coached by Petra Tretter, reached the final against Ukraine without having dropped a point. Although the opposition turned out to be a class of their own, players and staff can be more than satisfied after this tournament – this second place is something they can build on. A complete overview of the results by the Swiss players at this tournament is available via FIRA/AER website.
