Schools Technical Committee

The Schools Technical Committee has the task of implementing the necessary actions to promote youth competitions starting from mini-rugby through to the junior levels.

Its role is also to harmonise the relations between the associations, the rugby schools, the FSR and the Youth and Sports movement. It should establish schedules for competitions and ensure that the rules of the game are being followed at youth levels.

It supervises the appointment of club coaches and manages development of skills working closely with the Y & S movement.

This section of the FSR plays a very important role because it prepares young players by means of federal tournaments in the competitions for national teams, before they progress naturally into the senior category.

To be better able to successfully achieve its tasks the STC includes one representative from each association , which has the effect of balancing its decisions for the whole union.

Its responsibilities include:

  • Installing a structure that harmonises rugby in Switzerland at the schools level
  • Taking into account the international arrangements for the junior categories
  • Establishing links with Cantonal and Federal Authorities for the mini-rugby categories
  • Recommending to the NTC coaches suitable for taking charge of national teams starting from at least 15 years up to at least 18 years old.
  • Establishing its budget

The STC comprises:

  • Chairman : Vacant
  • National Coach JS : Cédric Borgeal
  • Disciplinary Manager Y+S: Philippe Lüthi
  • Assessor: Daniel Henry
  • Assessor representing ACGR: Patrick Grespan
  • Assessor representing ARJL: Pascal Landwerlin
