The quality of the training of the coaches is one of the fundamental components of the quality of the game in general and of the evolution at the level of a national union in particular. By improving the actions of coaches, we will improve the standards of the players. We are taking this fact very much to heart and intend to ensure a very high level of coaching standards.

Philippe Lüthi is in charge of the Y + S section. His responsibilities include:

• Establishing strong links with Y + S
• Developing and controlling the structure of the format in sporting discipline
• Planning basic and advanced training courses so as to ensure that there are enough Y+S instructors in discipline to train young persons.
• Conducting basic and advanced training courses for instructors.
• Ensuring that basic and advanced training is given by a group of experts in discipline.
• Checking on the quality of the basic and advanced training courses in discipline that are proposed.
• Producing teaching material that is specifcially related to discipline.
• Establishing links with the professional associations
